Mini Moon

We have returned from our mini moon (short honeymoon before the big trip).

We were both exhausted after the wedding so took the van into the dales it was great.

We spent the first 2 nights on the edge of Wensleydale at a place called Newbiggin (very fitting).

A lovely little campsite owned by a farmer who loved to say "no bother, no bother", to anything you asked. A little walking here but mainly relaxing and drinking Champagne, we felt like millionaires.

We then drove passed the Ribblehead Viaduct , I've always wanted to see it and bored Ruth talking about how the victorians built it in harsh winters (school teacher John ha ha). We then stayed at a great campsite right on the river near Settle (Knight Stainforth Hall), we thought we were overlooking Malham Cove then realised we were 10 miles away (still nice though). On the last day we went to Bolton Abby which was great (£6 to park though - the tight yorkshireman in me had a grumble!). We had a big walk then went to Barnsley to spend some time with my Sister before she went back to New York. See you in 12 months Penny.

It's been a great week, we are lucky where we live. With the views of Robin Hoods Bay on wedding day and the dales this week is going to take some beating on our travels!!
